Looking for a private home pilates teacher?
What is Pilates
Pilates is a type of exercise that consists of low-impact flexibility, muscular strength and endurance movements. Pilates emphasizes proper postural alignment, core strength and muscle balance. Interestingly, Pilates is named after it's creator, Joseph Pilates, who developed the exercises back in the 1920s.
What are the benefits of Pilates
Improving the strength of your core
Pilates exercises help develop a strong "core" - the center of the body. The core consists of abdominal muscles along with the muscles closest to the spine. Control of the core is achieved by integrating the trunk, pelvis and shoulder girdle in various Pilates exercises.
Improves your posture and reduces back pain
Since Pilates helps to increase your core strength, it improves your posture at the same time. The various exercises, poses, stretches, and breathing techniques which Pilates incorporates can also help to improve flexibility of your back.
When you have greater abdominal strength and flexibility, it means that your core has an increased ability to support itself. Thus, Pilates might also help reduce back pain, especially if your chronic lower back pain hasn't had a solution.
Gain some lean muscle
If you prefer to naturally gain lean muscles, consider Pilates. Compared to traditional weight lifting, Pilates elongates and strengthens muscle elasticity and joint mobility. A body with balanced strength and flexibility is less likely to be injured.
Possibly even lose some weight
While not proven to be the best way to lose weight, Pilates does help one get into better shape. Sure, cardio routines and weight lifting exercises can help you burn a lot of calories, but they may not be the best option for everybody. Depending on the intensity of the session, a 1-hour session of Pilates can burn up to 250-400 calories!
What are the advantages of private pilates?
Why should you hire us instead of practicing pilates yourself?
Private Pilates lessons can be customized to suit unique needs. If you are someone who has certain health issues, private lessons help prevent future injuries. If you have specific health goals, we can help you focus and achieve them.
Private Pilates lessons are also convenient. If you have a hectic schedule that prevents you from joining public lessons, well, that's where private sessions shine. With private lessons, you can schedule lessons at a time that works for you, and at the comfort of your own home.
Let’s face it: some of us need a little help with motivation. Consider your private pilates instructor your personal accountability partner because we will be there by your side during every set and we'll push you to bust through any plateaus in your progress. With your own personal cheerleader and coach, your workouts will become even more fulfilling and you’ll get faster results, too!
Who is this for? Who can benefit from home pilates?
Pilates is great for anyone looking to strengthen their core and gain more flexibility.
Great for busy working adults with tight schedules, or those with a history of various injuries.
